ICP, FEH and YEH Join Forces for the Ultimate Educational Opportunity This Winter

The Instructors’ Certification Program (ICP) and the USEA’s Future Event Horse (FEH) and Young Event Horse (YEH) Programs are teaming up to bring USEA members the ultimate educational opportunity in Florida this winter. Historically these educational seminars are hosted separately, but they have joined forces to ease travel requirements for instructor and young horse enthusiasts. Join us in Ocala, Fla. Meet the New USEA President, Carol Kozlowski

In her first apperance on this podcast since becoming the USEA President earlier this month, Carol Kozlowski shares her highlights from the 2016 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention and her new role with the Association. 

Ballynoe Castle RM: Highest Scoring U.S. Event Horse

In 2014, Carl and Cassie Segal's Ballynoecastle RM became the highest scoring U.S. event horse. The 16-year-old Irish Sport Horse "Reggie" (Ramiro B x Ballyvaldon Natalie) has earned over 1,600 points throughout his illustrious career which includes six CCI4* completions with rider Buck Davidson. Next year Reggie is slated to retire, but until then he will enjoy lower level competiton with his longtime groom Kathleen Murray. In this podcast, we take a look back at his amazing career.

Get to Know Your 2016 USEA Young Event Horse Champions: Foreign Quality and Woodford Reserve

On this podcast, we get some more information on the 2016 USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) 5-year-old Champions of both coasts. Woodford Reserve, An Irish Sport Horse (Tinarana's Inspector x Laharn's Laughton) owned by rider Erin Kellerhouse, took top honors on the west coast, while Foreign Quality, a Dutch Warmblood owned by Marley Stone Bourke and ridden by Tim Bourke, bested the rest on the east coast. 

Get to Know Your 2016 Future Event Horse Champions, See Spot Fly and Beall Spring Shamrock

This week on the podcast, we take some time to learn more about the 2016 USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) Champions. The leopard colored Knabstrupper, See Spot Fly, earned the West Coast Championship title. Leslie Asbe's gelding is by Colorado Skrodstrup and out of a TB mare, Djinn Chaser. On the East Coast, Beall Spring Shamrock came home with 3-year-old and overall victory. "Shamrock" is a Swedish Warmblood gelding owned by Stephanie Ormston and bred by Beall Spring Farm who lead the pack from start to finish. 

Competing and Traveling Overseas with Tamra Smith and Holly Payne Caravella

Managing the logistics of traveling and competing is complicated enough, but gets taken to a new level when you factor in overseas travel. Each fall, we see a small group of United States riders head to Europe to challenge themselves in a new competitive environment. Tamra Smith and Holly Payne Caravella both spent a few weeks in Europe this fall competing multiple horses, and they join us to share their experiences of traveling, competing and temporarily living overseas with their horses. 

2016 AEC Recap: Meet Ryan Wood, Cindy DePorter and Annabelle Kress

Three champions from the 2016 Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Land Rover (AEC) join us to discuss their whirlwind weekend at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC). Cindy DePorter first discusses her win in the Master Novice Amateur division with Ana D, followed by Annabelle Kress, who won the Broadstone Junior Beginner Novice 14 and Under division with Susie Beale's adorable Batteries Not Included, and finally Ryan Wood, who was named both champion and reserve champion of the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Advanced, describes his experiences. 

2016 Olympic Games Recap with Phillip Dutton and David O'Connor

Phillip Dutton joins us to recount the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he won an individual bronze medal. David O'Connor also joins us to let us know what this Olympics means for Team USA.
